Matt Saunao now residing in Australia is New Zealand Idol winner 2006. His hit single "Hold Out" went to number one on the New Zealand charts in November 2006. Later when 'Hold Out' was chosen as the theme song for the advertismentss for tv one's summer series, Matt's song bounced right back into the charts.
Before his Idol success Matt was building garages in his home town of Levin. He performed a number of shows in Levin and around the Horowhenua district, specifically a show at Palmeston North New Year's party and a performance in Levin as a form of thank you to the town who was recorded to have given the most votes for Matt in all of New Zealand.
Shortly after Matt moved to the Gold Coast, Australia with his partner and son.
